Kristof K.P. Vanhoutte Speaks at International Conference in Malta

On November 7 and 8, 2019, PICT core faculty member Kristof K.P. Vanhoutte participated in the international conference, “Engaging the Contemporary 2019: The Philosophical Turn towards Religion” at the University of Malta, Valletta Campus.

In his talk, entitled “Until Death Does Not Do Us Part, or On What the Afterlife Can Still Teach Us Today,” Kristof staged a historical-theoretical exploration of themes that also feature prominently in his current PICT course, “Thinking Through the Afterlife.” Highlighting the contemporary relevance of thought on the afterlife, Kristof focused especially on what he calls the “hermeneutical reflection” between the various realms of the afterlife and some of the more important socio-political aspects of our world today.
