PICT Gets the French Touch!
(version française ci-dessous)
PICT has always built bridges between our native Paris and the Anglophone world. We have lectured on Parisian landmarks from the Eiffel Tower to the Wallace Fountains; engaged with Parisian thinkers from Emmanuel Levinas to Maurice Merleau-Ponty; and worked with Parisian institutions from the City Hall to the Sorbonne—all in the English language.
But all bridges go two ways. Now in our fifth year, PICT has assembled an acclaimed and growing library of online, open-access articles, reviews, interviews, and more. The time has come to make this library available in French. We will start by translating single pieces, with the long-term goal of making our whole website bilingual in English and French.
Like all projects at our non-profit, volunteer-run organization, French PICT depends on the support of you, our community. All of you are invited to join the project—simply pick your favorite PICT article and pitch your translation proposal to the editor of French PICT. If your translation is approved, we will publish it on the PICT site with your translator’s byline.
