Paris Bookstore Tour

45.00

Instructor: David Selim Sayers

Paris is a literary city, a city where people who visit their friends still bring books as gifts. On this tour, we will follow the city’s love affair with the book. We will explore classic bookstores such as Shakespeare and Company, where aspiring writers since Hemingway have searched for literary inspiration. We will stroll by the booksellers on the Seine, whose lockers obstruct the view of the river only to pull you in with their vintage merchandise. And we will explore the local markets where Parisian book lovers go hunting for bargain treasures. To a bibliophile, Paris is like an open book–and we will read the most exciting chapters!

We will mainly focus on bookstores around the St. Germain & Latin Quarter districts. A main component of the tour will be English-language bookstores.
