PICT Book Talk: Andalusian Visions

On Saturday, 1 July 2023, PICT invites you to an afternoon with photographer Cyril Caine, poet Stuart Dischell, and composer Laurent Estoppey, who will present and discuss their collaborative work, Andalusian Visions, in an event moderated by Stephanie Papa. All are welcome!

“An array of paths crisscrossing the desert”: such is the premise of Andalusian Visions, a collaborative book by photographer Cyril Caine, poet Stuart Dischell, and composer Laurent Estoppey (Unicorn Press, 2023). The book takes the form of a multi-genre work of art, with Caine’s photographs capturing the deserts of Andalusia and the southwestern USA accompanied by an 8-part poem by Dischell and eight pieces of experimental music by Estoppey, who also provides the French translation of Dischell’s poem. Moderated by Stephanie Papa, the event will see the artists present a reading of the book, a short film, and musical compositions related to the project. A question and answer session will follow.
