PICT Elects New Association Board

On Sunday, 8 January 2023, the Paris Institute for Critical Thinking (PICT) held its Annual General Assembly. All PICT members were invited to the meeting, which was held online to enable members from around the world to participate. At the meeting, the gathered PICT members elected PICT’s new Association Board.

The PICT Annual General Assembly was held in line with the French Association Law (Loi 1901) under which PICT is registered as a non-profit association. The meeting began with an announcement of PICT’s activity and financial reports for the year 2022 as well as its projections for the year 2023. Following this, the assembled PICT members voted for PICT’s new Administrative Council and Association Board, two institutional bodies required by the French Association Law.

PICT’s 2023 Administrative Council consists of the PICT core faculty, namely Evrim Emir-Sayers, Macha Matalaev, David Selim Sayers, Hector Ulloque, and Sage Waters. They are joined by three further members who make up PICT’s 2023 Association Board: Anton Bonnici (Treasurer), Jörg Eschenauer (President), and Nada Serhan (Secretary General).

We would like to thank all our members who took time out of their busy schedules to join us for the occasion. Your membership fees sustain everything we do at our volunteer-run, non-profit institute, and it was a privilege to share this moment with you and see you actively participate in PICT’s decision-making process.

We also thank our faculty members Anton and Nada for taking on added responsibility within PICT, and give a warm welcome to Jörg, who joins PICT as our association’s President after having served for 18 years as the President of the Department of Languages and Cultures at the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées!
